地壳演化动定递进的规律控制着金矿的形成与分布,大地构造发展阶段处于活动区期是金成矿的有利时期。后一个阶段继承并改造前一个阶段的金矿床或矿源层,使形成新的金矿。一个有价值的金矿往往是多因复成的,地洼区最具备这种条件,是找金的有利地区。 山西金的成矿期主要有两个:一个是在前震旦纪结晶基底层中(晚太古代——早元古代):另一个是地洼构造层中(中——新生代)。在空间上主要分布在地洼区四级单位——地穹或地穹与地洼的交接带,或地洼中的更次一级正单位中。据分析,阜平亚构造层为一活动区型,可能存在绿岩带、这个带富产金矿。
