In recent years, the rapid development of electronic technology, high-capacity high-speed high-resolution electronic computer system has been introduced. Computers are moving into all areas of modern life, with a growing range of applications. The popularization of computer technology has also led to a qualitative change in our province’s water resources statistics. The calculation tools have undergone three changes from abacus to calculator and from calculator to computer system, and the efficiency of statistical work has risen to three steps. This article briefly introduces the computer in our province water statistics application, and shows a prospect of future development and utilization. Application Review The application of computer to water conservancy statistics in our province began in 1986 when the Ministry of Water Resources developed a computerized management system for annual reports of water conservancy in order to quickly compile a national annual report on water conservancy and at the same time set about purchasing microcomputers and training personnel for each province. This system is opened by the Ministry of Water Resources
