坐落在南京汤山温泉旅游风景区汤泉湖畔的汤山中学,创办于1951年,学校占地60亩,是江苏省示范初中。现有教学班18个,学生639人,教职工96人,其中研究生3人,本科74人,拥有市区学科带头人、骨干教师24名。学校办学质量优良,已经连续五年被江宁区教育局评为区效能评估一等学校,先进学校。先后获得了“江苏省示范初中”、“南京市德育先进学校”、“南京市青年文明号”、“南京市无烟学校”、“南京市绿色学校”、“全国科技体育试点学校”、“南京市园林学校”、“江苏省平安校园”、“南京市素质教育示范初中”、“南京市第三批青奥学校”等荣誉称号。同时,学校还是教育部“友善用脑”课题实验学校、高效课堂改革实验学校和体验式德育实验学校。
