The correlation between spawning selection and developmental fitness of offspring is one of the major scientific problems in evolutionary ecology. In order to explore the relationship between Brachymeria lasus and host selection and the development of offspring, the 4-instar larvae of Pieris rapae were treated with starvation method to obtain body size (body mass) The host pupa for parasite bee parasites. The results showed that Larvae significantly favored the larger host pupae, and had a higher probability of producing female offspring in larger pupae. There was a significant positive correlation between the size of the offspring and the size of the host pupa, There was no correlation between the developmental age of the bee and the size of the host pupae. The research indicates that the parasitism and the development of the offspring of the larvae of Bufo bufo gargarizans are in line with the prediction of the “host size - quality” model.
