莫言,中国20世纪80年代的伟大作家,2012年诺贝尔文学奖的获得者与美国1949年诺贝尔文学奖获得者福克纳在小说的创作手法上有惊人的相似之处。二者将他们小说中的神秘事件都置于他们自己创造的以他们家乡为背景的“高密东北乡”和“约克纳帕塔法县”。并且他们在小说中都运用了意识流等写作手法。但并非是莫言效仿福克纳,换句话说,是莫言深受福克纳的影响并得到了启示,将西方意识流手法进行改革和创作运用到他的作品中。但相比二者的意识流手法,莫言意识流手法的运用更加天马行空,更加大胆和具有创新性。但二者也在现代主义和后现代主义方面产生了分歧,福克纳是现代主义的大家,而莫言则是后现代主义的领军人物。
Mo Yan, a great writer in China in the 1980s, winner of the Nobel Prize in Literature in 2012 and Faulkner, winner of the Nobel Prize in 1949 in the United States, have striking resemblances in the novel’s writing techniques. Both put the mysterious events in their novels on their own creations in the northeastern towns of Gaomi and Yakunpatafa in the context of their hometown. And they all used writing techniques such as stream of consciousness in their novels. However, it was not Mo Yan’s imitation of Faulkner. In other words, Mo Yan was strongly influenced by Faulkner and enlightened him to apply the reform and creation of Western consciousness to his works. However, compared with the consciousness flow of the two, the application of Mo Yan consciousness flow is more abstract, more bold and innovative. But both also disagree on modernism and postmodernism. Faulkner is a member of modernism, while Mo Yan is the leader of postmodernism.
