J.R.R. Tolkien’s fantasy novels have a unique mechanism of generating meaning. His creations depend on faith but can arouse reflections on reality. However, the author himself denies all interpretation and constructs a complete system of myths from form to detail in order to obtain its authenticity in the real world. The result is that his creation of fantasy novels has caused the work to be broken as a reference to reality. Contemporary readers follow the symbolic logic of reality as a replacement for the real “hyper-real” model. Eventually, all the meaning was declared dissolved, and Tolkien’s fantasy novel became a symbolic carnival.
