1997年5月Intel公司宣布正式推出奔腾Ⅱ微处理器,它是高能奔腾微处理器(P6体系结构的Pentium Pro)的先进特性和MMX多媒体增强技术结合的微处理器。为了满足三维图形、图像和多媒体应用程序等可视计算能力的需要,奔腾Ⅱ微处理器提供了整数运算、浮点数运算和多媒体等三方面的优异性能。它的核心有750万个半导体元件,以0.35微米工艺加工而成,它的一级缓存和二级缓存分别达到32KB和512KB。而且二级缓存与微处理器封装在一个盒子里。
May 1997 Intel Corporation announced the official release of the Pentium II microprocessor, which is a microprocessor based on the advanced features of the Pentium Pro Pentium Pro and MMX multimedia enhancement technology. In order to meet the needs of visual computing capabilities such as three-dimensional graphics, graphics and multimedia applications, Pentium II microprocessors provide excellent performance in integer arithmetic, floating-point arithmetic and multimedia. It has 7.5 million semiconductor components at its core and is fabricated in a 0.35-micron process, with 32KB and 512KB of L1 cache and L2 cache, respectively. And second-level cache and microprocessor packaged in a box.
