土门关也叫井陉关,位于河北省西南鹿泉市境内。雄关下有一条古驿道,风风雨雨几千年,但不减英雄本色,历史文化在这里积淀,中华文明在这里繁衍,历史在这里涂上了绚丽夺目的色彩。秦皇汉武的年代,这雄关漫道已是地位显赫了。公元前210年春,秦始皇为巩固华夏一统天下,开始了他的第五次出巡。他到了平原津就病倒了,自觉末日来临,便写下诏书,要长子扶苏继皇位,蒙恬掌兵权,在咸阳安葬。在沙丘平台(今巨鹿地)秦始皇死了。只有身边的李斯、赵高等五六人知道,对外保密,李斯、赵高伪造了诏书,要杀扶苏、蒙恬,立胡亥为皇帝。他们把秦始皇的尸体安置在辒辌中,直奔土门关而来。这是秦始皇生前选择的道路,认为这是最吉祥之路。要从这里过太行,翻吕梁,穿九原直达成阳。路上日行夜宿,正值7月天气,秦始皇的尸体早已腐臭,李斯让人买了些鲍鱼,装在前边的车上,腥臭飘洒在古驿道。土门关的百姓看见这大队人马,知道是皇上从这里经过,但不知为什么车上载着臭鱼。后来,人们才知道皇上驾崩,从土门关下的占驿道回都。
