芝麻是宿县主要的油料作物,历史悠久。由于多年来它被认为是小宗作物,重视不够,因而种植面积小,产量低。近年来,为了适应种植业结构调整和人民生活改善的需要,夏芝麻面积扩大,产量有所提高。1985年在遭受先旱后涝等灾害的情况下,全县共种夏芝麻19.61万亩,平均单产53.5公斤,总产1,049.14万公斤,面积、单产、总产都超过历史最高水平。还涌现一批丰产典型。大店区大店乡大店村农民黄有文种1.3亩夏芝
