To understand the relationship between serum TNF-α and IL-10 levels and neonatal infection status and prognosis, 207 full-term infants admitted to neonatal ward from January 2000 to January 2002 were divided into sepsis group (n = 82) and general infection group Cases, non-infected group of 27 patients with serum TNF-α and IL_10 levels by ELISA. The results showed that the levels of TNF_α and IL_10 in sepsis group were significantly higher than those in non-infected group and general infection group. The levels of TNF_α and IL_10 in serum-positive and blood-negative sepsis groups were not significantly different. The levels of IL_10 and IL_10 / TNF_α The ratio is significantly higher in cases of worsening or dying infections. These results suggest that the levels of TNF_α and IL_10 may reflect the infection of the body more sensitively and predict the prognosis
