高职院校传统的公共英语教学模式不能满足学生的实际需要,所以专门用途英语(ESP)被引入到高职公共英语教学中。本文通过问卷的形式对学生的ESP需求分析进行了调查。调查结果表明,学生学习ESP课程的目标明确、动机强、兴趣和信心足、态度积极;学生希望教师充分利用教材和教学环境,侧重培养他们的ESP交际能力。学生的需求分析结果对ESP教学产生一定的启示作用,教师不仅需要提高自身英语和专业知识水平,而且要进一步改进教学策略。
The traditional mode of public English teaching in higher vocational colleges can not meet the actual needs of students. Therefore, ESP is introduced into higher vocational public English teaching. This paper investigates the student’s ESP needs analytics in the form of a questionnaire. The survey results show that students have a clear motivation to learn ESP, strong motivation, sufficient interest and confidence, and a positive attitude. Students hope that teachers will make full use of teaching materials and teaching environment and focus on developing their ESP communicative competence. The results of student needs analysis have a certain enlightenment on ESP teaching. Teachers not only need to improve their English and professional knowledge, but also to further improve teaching strategies.
