Japan’s Power Furnace Nuclear Fuel Development Group and Mitsubishi Atomic Fuels recently announced that they have successfully developed in-service tannins to efficiently remove waste uranium and uranium from wastewater, and pointed out that there is a good prospect for practical application. The preparation of fuels for new nuclear power reactors (eg, thorium, uranium mixed oxides, and thorium fuels) will generate waste liquids containing radioactive materials, which were conventionally treated using iron coprecipitation, activated carbon, and resin adsorption. There is still a need for further processing for the above processing methods
