First, the market review in September In September, the A-share market continued its decline. The Shanghai Composite Index broke through the 2000-point mark in the session with the lowest dropping to 1802.33 points, the lowest level since November 2006. Critical moment, the management introduced a series of measures to stabilize market confidence. The Shanghai Composite Index closed at 2293.78 points at the end of the month, while trading volume continued to expand (see Figure 1).
