Central Opera House will be staged in May the news of two American musicals spread like wildfire, aroused people’s interest. Because, the musical is known as the American drama, has long been to the world, has been translated into more than 10 kinds of text and performed in nearly 70 countries. But it is still very strange to our people, and it is the first time that it is officially introduced as a drama. When I visited the Central Opera House, the rehearsal hall was rehearsing a large musical “musical salesman.” The director is George White, chairman of the O’Neill Theater Center in the United States. He sat on the table in the first row of chairs, standing up from time to time to indicate the stage, and sometimes simply took office with the actors to perform. Do not look at his short pier body, to start a demonstration of action is still very flexible and vivid, a few words can make the actors understand the characteristics of the role. What is the musical? This is my first question to him.
