The author summarizes the characteristics of the era of knowledge economy from the marketing point of view. It points out that the pillar industries in the era of knowledge-based economy are high-tech industries; the service industries of knowledge-based economy will become the leading industries; the knowledge-based economy is an integrated world economy; the mode of production in the era of knowledge-based economy is nonstandard; and the knowledge economy is a sustainable economy. According to the characteristics of knowledge economy, the author also proposes that the marketing innovation in the era of knowledge-based economy is carried out by means of the Internet. The main battlefield of marketing is in high-tech industries. Marketing innovation is carried out by means of knowledge.
