Scientists at the University of British Columbia in Canada have developed a new type of concrete. Spraying it on an existing wall allows the wall to withstand the impact of an earthquake. This new type of concrete is called environmentally friendly ductile cementitious composites (EDCC) and concrete contains polymer fibers. In addition, almost 70% of the cement in the material is replaced by fly ash.
