桫椤(Cyathea spinulosa)又叫树蕨。桫椤科。为我国一级保护植物中唯一的蕨类植物。木本。桫椤的根是从茎干下部长出来的不定根。茎柱状,直立,直径一般为10～20厘米,高1～6米,有的可达10米以上;树干纤细没有分枝,上面布满了六角形的斑纹,坚实的纤维质的树干中没有实心的木质。叶为大型三回羽状复叶,簇生于茎项端,叶片长2～3米;羽片长矩圆形;小羽片羽裂几达小羽轴,裂片披针形,有疏锯齿;
