金红(别名春红,公主岭123)是吉林林省农科院果树所于1961年以金冠作母本、红太平作父本杂交育成。我县1979年引入。经过几年来的栽培管理,认为金红是北方寒冷地区抗寒、抗旱、抗病、早果、丰产、优质、耐贮的大中型优良苹果品种,也是盆栽苹果的好品种。一、优质耐贮:果实椭圆形,单果平均重75克,最大175克,底色鲜黄,复红色霞及断条纹,外观美丽。果肉黄白,肉质细脆多汁,折射含糖量15度,酸甜适口,香味浓,品质上。果实9月中旬成熟,一般可贮藏2—3个月,用塑料袋可贮至翌年3—4月
