Objective To investigate the correlation between Th1 / Th2 cytokine migration and iodine conversion in Graves disease (GD). METHODS: Sixty patients with GD and 131 healthy controls were enrolled in this study. IL-2 was measured as Th1 cytokine and IL-6 as Th2 cytokine, respectively. Results IL-6 in GD group was significantly higher than that in control group (P <0.01); IL-2 level was significantly lower than that in control group (P <0.01). IL-2, IL-6 and IL-2 / IL-6 had no significant correlation with thyroid iodine conversion rate (P> 0.05). Conclusion The imbalance of Th1 / Th2 subsets in patients with GD is predominantly Th2-predominant. The migration of Th1 / Th2 cells is not correlated with thyroid iodine conversion.
