Objective: To study the therapeutic effects of total alkaloids from the peony grass in Jiangnan on adjuvant arthritis in rats. Methods: The model of adjuvant arthritis in rats was used to observe the therapeutic effects of different concentrations of drugs on adjuvant arthritis in rats. 36 rats were randomly divided into high dose group (200mg / kg), low dose group (100mg / kg) and normal control group (each male and female in each group). The volume of local limbs was measured and the general situation was observed. The other 108 rats were divided into normal control group, inflammatory group and high-dose group (200mg / kg) for the determination of erythrocyte sedimentation rate. The changes of erythrocyte sedimentation rate at different periods were measured to indirectly reflect the therapeutic effect of the drug. Results: The total alkaloids of the peonies had a certain swelling effect on secondary body swelling induced by adjuvant arthritis in rats. On the 18th day, 24th day and 32nd day, the high dose Alkaloids group had certain therapeutic effect on swelling induced by adjuvant arthritis secondary to arthritis (compared with the normal control group, P < 0.05), and had no obvious anomalous effect on the general condition of rats. However, the low alkaloid total alkaloids of Jiangnan showed no significant effect on the secondary lesions of adjuvant arthritis in rats (compared with the normal control group , P> 0.05). The value of erythrocyte sedimentation rate after inflammation increased significantly, while the value of erythrocyte sedimentation rate decreased gradually after treatment (compared with the pro-inflammatory group, the difference was statistically significant P <0.05). Conclusion: The high dose of total alkaloid from the peony grass in Jiangnan grass fed adjuvant arthritis can significantly reduce the secondary swelling of the erythrocyte sedimentation rate and its limbs, and has certain curative effect on the secondary lesion.
