“旅德摄影艺术家”几乎是国内媒体对王小慧约定俗成的称谓,不过她并不喜欢这个定位,她更喜欢被称作“艺术家”。从创作形式上,她不局限于任何一种,电影、观念摄影、雕塑装置、设计、写作……这些她都曾涉及。在生活方式上,她也完成了从一个普通创作者到艺术家的完整过渡。世界在她的眼中萌发出一种完全不同的角度,荒原、枯草、乞丐,甚至一朵从含苞到盛放再到枯萎的花朵,都能带来不同凡响的艺术震撼。在王小慧展示的每一帧画面中,都渗透着对生、死、爱的终极追问。
