In animal models, electrodes have been implanted in the temporal bone or cochlea, and electrophysiological and histopathological observations of their spirals, nerve fibers, and spiral ganglia have been reported, and there is little chance of a similar observation of patients with cochlear implants. This article reports a 66-year-old patient who was admitted to a 22-channel cochlear implant. The electrodes were inserted from the round window and the round window was closed with fascia, gelatin sponge and fibrin glue.
