Man and Sheep is one of the most important sculptures ever written by Picasso. Works created in 1943. It first molded with clay, after being turned into plaster, after the Second World War was cast into three bronze. The first bronze statue was purchased by a U.S. collector and donated to the Philadelphia Museum of Art. In 1950, Picasso donated a second bronze statue to the town of Vallauris, where he resided after the war.
