经过将近五年的漫长等待,PC界终于迎来了自1992年以来的第一次惊天动地的大变革。在图形总线方面,97年底发布的LX芯片组使AGP接口迈出了买质性的一步。虽然开始时,各个厂商只是把在PCI卡上用的图形芯片加在了AGP接口上,以致人们纷纷怀疑这些图形卡根本没有什么结构上的变革,而只是迎合消费心理以抢占市场的一个手段而已。但随着Intel 1740芯片的发布,这种疑问会随着时间的推移而烟消云散。我们测试了来自15家厂商采用9种芯片的25种AGP 3D图形加速卡。
After nearly five years of long wait, the PC industry finally ushered in the first earthshaking revolution since 1992. In the graphics bus, the LX chipset released late in 1997 took a qualitative step toward the AGP interface. Although initially, various manufacturers only added the graphics chip used on the PCI card to the AGP interface, so that people suspect that these graphics cards have no structural changes at all and only cater to the psychology of consumers to seize the market . However, with the release of the Intel 1740 chip, this doubt vanishes over time. We tested 25 AGP 3D graphics accelerators from 15 vendors using nine chips.
