去年九、十月间,许多媒体报道了湖北省公安县格公乡“蛇王”白陆升养蛇场的60万条蛇被洪水冲走的消息。谁会想到那感人的新闻竟会是弥天大谎:白陆升养的蛇最多不会超过1万条变成了60万条 (1998年10月19日《报刊文摘》说共有60万条蛇,其中7万条“名蛇”集体死亡,50万条蛇逃散);损失最多不超过10万元变成了1330万元。白陆升一箭双雕,既骗捐款、捐物,还可赖掉乡亲们的70多万元集资款。
