Located in the northwestern part of Henan Province, Jiaozuo City, the northern Taihang, south of the Yellow River, is a historic city. Jiaozuo is one of the regions where the revolutionary activities started earlier under the leadership of the Chinese Communist Party. During the Great Revolution, coal miners in Jiaozuo held a general strike. The strike was notable in the history of Chinese workers movement.
