台湾航运学会理事长、总干事、各位理事及航海界的同仁们: 最近,叶剑英委员长和胡耀邦主席先后发表谈话,进一步阐明关于台湾回归祖国、实现和平统一的方针政策,得到了全国人民,包括台湾同胞、港澳同胞以及海外侨胞的热烈拥护;同时也获得了国际舆论的广泛支持。我们深信,台湾航海界的同仁们和朋友们,也一定会作出积极的响应。我国具有发展航海事业和开发利用水资源的优越自然条件,但从一九四九年以来,大陆和台湾之间虽然天水相连,人民渴望通航,却人为地造成骨肉分离,只能隔峡相望断航三十多年的不幸局面。这种状况,现在已到应该结束的时候了。
Recently, President Yeh Eng-ying and Chairman Hu Yaobang spoke in succession to further clarify the guidelines and policies on Taiwan’s return to the motherland and realize peaceful reunification. It has won the support of people throughout the country, including the people of the rest of the country, Taiwan compatriots, compatriots in Hong Kong and Maucao and overseas compatriots, as well as the widespread support of international public opinion. We are convinced that colleagues and friends in Taiwan’s navigational community will certainly respond positively. Our country has the superior natural conditions for the development of maritime undertakings and the development and utilization of water resources. However, since 1940 when the Tianshui River was connected between mainland China and Taiwan, the people long for navigation, but artificially created flesh and blood and separated only across the gorges 30 years of unlucky unlucky situation. It is time to end this situation.
