我院的成人教育工作,始于六十年代,是国内率先举办成人教育的中医院校之一。起初主要为岗位培训,到七十年代先后举办了数期西学中班及师资培训班等。八十年代,沐浴着改革开放的浩荡春风,得到迅速发展,一九八一年成立了处级建制的函授部,下设办公室、教研室、编辑室、资料室,在编人员16人,学院还为其配备了录音、摄像、复制等先进的电教设备。一九八八年在原函授部基础上成立了成人教育部,与函授部为一套人员两块牌子,扩大了其职能范围。一九九七年经省教委批准又成立了成人
