比赛间隙我采访了张家口地区体委主任艾鸿恩和速滑教练马成才,他俩热情地向我介绍了地区冰上运动的发展情况。地处河北省北部的张家口地区,是全省内仅有的“高寒地区”,每年有2—3个月的冰期。尽管冰期不长,但是这个地区的冰上活动却是很活跃的。冰期一到,张家口地区的少男、少女及姑娘小伙们便把地区仅有的三个冰场当成了乐园。上冰青少年年年增加。地区体委十分重视这一苗头,并于1981年正式成立速度滑冰业余体校,意欲在普及群众滑冰的基础上,为河北省培养一批滑冰新秀,为国家做贡献。艾鸿恩出任当时的业体校教练。这可是个地地道道的纯业余校。招收60名小学员吃住在家,运动服自备,还要亲自动手用脸盆一盆一盆端水浇冰场。学校只管教学和发冰刀,学校条件之差,起步之艰难,在全国并不
