跳频技术属于扩频(全称扩展频谱)技术的范畴。将跳频调制应用于无线电通信系统,会提供用传统的调制得不到的某些性能,例如,获得抗人为干扰的能力,以及达到多址通信的目的等等。由于以往只限于军用,因而熟悉该技术的人不多。自70年代中期以来,由于大规模集成技术的进步,电荷耦合器件、表面声波器件和优质微处理机的出现,使跳频技术的发展速度加快,大有前途。
