石花菜是一种经济价值较高的红藻,它是制造琼胶的主要原料。琼胶的用途广,经济效益高,国内外的需求量都很大。但是,由于目前石花菜的产量主要依靠有限的自然资源,远远不能满足生产的需要。只有开展石花菜的全人工养殖,才能解决这一矛盾。石花菜的养殖生产,苗源是关键,孢子育苗又是解决苗源的主要途径,而孢子育苗的前提,是孢子集中大量放散。因此,探索孢子集中放散是我们的首要任务。日本的片田实等,曾于1950年做过研究,并已报导过,但在国内尚未见报导。
