笔者以人物简介类基础写作为例,谈谈如何利用课堂提高英语基础写作。
马克·吐温是美国著名作家。马克·吐温(1835—1910)生于关国Missouri,他是关国19世纪著名作家之一。他的家乡位于密西西比河畔。成年后他曾在密西西比河的船上当水手。他写过很多小说,其中最著名的是《汤姆索亚历险记》。他的作品被译成多国文字,深受全世界读者喜爱。
写作内容:请根据上面提供的内容写一篇人物简介。写作要求:1. 必须使用五个句子介绍全部所含内容。2 . 将五个句子组成连贯的短文。
第一步审题
这篇书面表达为人物简介,体裁应当为记叙文。
第二步罗列要点
记叙文的要素一般包括5个W(when,where,who,what,why)和一个H(how)
1. 人物简介,出生时间、地点、职业。
2. 人物生平:在密西西比河上当过水手,写过许多小说。
3. 成就:著名小说《汤姆索亚历险记》。许多作品被译成多国文字,深受全世界读者喜爱。
注意事项:时态多为过去式,后面提及他对现在的影响可用现在完成时和一般现在时。人称多为第三人称。
第三步将各要点分别翻译成句
1. Mark Twain(1835—1910)was one of the most well-known American writers in the 19th century.
2.He was born in Missouriin the middle part of the United States.
3.His hometown lay on the banks of the Mississippi River.
4.When he grew up,he worked as a sailor on a river boat for some time.
5.Mark Twain wrote a lot of novels.
6.One of the novels is the Adventure of Tom Sawyer.
7.Some Of his novels have been translated into many languages.
8.His works are deeplyloved by readers throughoutthe world.
第四步合并句子
分析:1、2句罗列人物简介出生时间、地点、职业,可并为一句。第3、4句描述其曾在家乡河畔从事水手职业,可并为一句。第5、6句作品及其代表作可以合并成一句。第7、8句指作家及其作品对以后的影响,可以合并成一句。作文要求五句作文,因此可以分别写作品及作者本人的影响力。
第五步头脑风暴
通过温习关于人物描述的词组、句型,进行头脑风暴,为随后的例文仿写夯实基础。
第六步例文仿写
写作内容:介绍你的好友,李华。
1. 外貌特征:长相幽默,戴一副深度眼镜。2.性格:幽默、热心、深受同学喜爱。3. 兴趣:跳街舞(hip—hop)4.事迹:今年五月份参加市舞蹈大赛获一等奖,并将奖金全部捐献给一位家庭有困难的同学。要求:用五个句子将以上意思连贯起来,形成一篇短文,内容可以适当调整和发挥。
第七步分析
体裁:应为记叙文。人称宜采用第三人称。时态:现在时,第四点为过去时。
第八步将各要点翻译成句,并作适当拓展提炼
1. My good friend,Li Hua,aged 17,is a funny looking boy
2. He wears a pair of thick glasses.
提示:用分词作定语合并或者介词词组修饰boy,如:My good friend,Li Hua,aged 17,is a funny looking boy with/wearing a pair of thick glasses.
3. He is a very active boy with a lot of hobbies.
4. One of his hobbies makes him most famous,that is,hip-hop.
提示:第3、4句可以用定语从句合并,如:He is a very active boy with a Iot of hobbies.one of his hobbies makes him most famous,that is,hip-hop.
5. He took part in the Dance Competition in our city and got the first prize.
提示可以适当拓展此句,如 He enjoys hip-hop so much that he even took part in the Dance Competition in our city and got the first prize.
6. To our surprise,he gave all the prize money to a classmate.
7. The classmate’s family is very poor.
提示:第6、7句可以用定语从句连接,如:To our surprise,he gave all the prize money to a classmate whose family is very poor.
8. Li Hua is a humorous,warm-hearted and active boy.
9. We all think highly of him.
提示:第8、9句是评价,应位于文章末尾,对写作要点进行适当调整。将此两句合并可用so/such...that...结果状语从句将其合并,如:Li Hua is such a humorous,warm-hearted and active boy that we all think highly of him.当然也可以用其他句型如倒装句和并列句使句子灵活多变。如:such is Li Hua,a humorous,warm-hearted and actjve boy and we all think highly of him.
第九步写作练习
完成第八步以后,教师请学生将文章顺理成章,并将其列为家庭作业。此步骤可以巩固写作技巧,并作为在一堂课进行点评分析写作训练效果的依据。
