从古到今,数学及其发展与人类社会的进步息息相关。尤其在当代,数学的影响已经遍及人类活动的各个领域,成为推进人类文明不可或缺的重要因素,从而使得社会也不断对公民的数学素养提出新的要求。我们作为数学教育工作者,就必须考虑社会发展与数学课程之间的关系;而对于小学数学教师来讲,就必须考虑数学与生活之间的联系。具体地说,就是我们在数学教学中能不能把这些现实的问题与之相联,能不能在教学中让学生根据自己现有的知识水平和生活经验去重新体验“数学发现”的过程,能不能让学生运用所学的数学知识去解决一些生活中的简单问题……
