21世纪地质学的教学内容与课程体系的科学结构应以培养具有地球系统科学多元知识结构人才为出发点。地质学专业有关地学的课程体系可采用树型模式。即教学内容与课程体系由树根、树干和树冠构成。“树根”由宽厚扎实的理工科公共文化基础课构成,体现文化“通识”教育;“树干”由坚实的专业基础课构成,体现专业通识教育;“树冠”由专业课构成,体现以地球系统科学为构架的多元知识结构。建议第四学年的课堂教学推行“研修式教学”的教学方式。
