胡耀邦同志在十二大的报告中指出,我们在建设高度物质文明的同时,一定要努力建设高度的社会主义精神文明。他还指出社会主义精神文明是社会主义的重要特征,是社会主义制度优越性的重要表现。建设精神文明是建设社会主义的一个战略方针问题。我国戏曲是广大人民群众所喜闻乐见的艺术,它多少年来一直是反映着人民群众的思想感情、对人对事的看法,因而也反映了人民的道德伦理观念,从而又反过来教育着广大人民。它有一支庞大的和人民群众经常直接接触的队伍。这是一支建设社会主义精神文明不可忽视的重要力量。因此,这个队伍的精神面貌如何,就成为我们应当十分重视的问题。
Comrade Hu Yaobang pointed out in the 12th National Congress that while building a highly material civilization, we must strive to build a high level of socialist spiritual civilization. He also pointed out that socialist spiritual civilization is an important feature of socialism and an important manifestation of the superiority of the socialist system. The construction of spiritual civilization is a strategic issue of building socialism. China’s opera is the art loved by the broad masses of the people. Over the years, it has always reflected the people’s thoughts and feelings, their opinions on things, and thus the people’s moral and ethical concepts, which in turn have educated the broad masses of people. It has a large contingent of people often in direct contact with the people. This is an important force that can not be ignored in building a socialist spiritual civilization. Therefore, the mental outlook of this team has become a problem that we should attach great importance to.
