香港彩色宽银幕故事片『三笑』片头字幕的设计上是另辟蹊径、别具一格的。一部较好的故事片、往往在片头字幕的处理上也有独到之处。『三笑』这部影片的字幕好就好在它大胆地舍弃了一般影片常用的手法,而精心设计了一幅古代的画卷。随着镜头的移动,字幕或映在相府的屏风上,或映在花园的围墙土,或映在酒店的小旗上……,演员职员,各得其所。真是字在画中,画在眼中,字幕、画面浑然一体,收到了较好的艺术效果。同时,影片的字幕采用横移的长镜头,避免了跳跃性,使观众很容易看清楚。
