“八一”的美展会场里,有些作品在这一方面决不低于亚速王宫的浮雕。比较引人注意的雕塑《艰苦岁月》所描写的红军战士,其性格、处境和未来的命运,显然跟浮雕里的狮子完全不同。可是就这一点而论是一致的:不用繁杂的材料而又能够体现丰富的内容,形象单纯而又不空虚和单调。这是因为雕刻家抓住了题材的复杂性——人物性格的内在特征。表现红军战士生活的艰苦,远不是从青年雕塑家潘鹤开始的,这一会场里的某些大幅油画,也描写了相似的题材。而这一雕塑的两个人物所表现出来的东西,不少于几十个人的大构图所表现了的。它没有描
