Nitrobenzoic acid has long been used for the gravimetric determination of tetravalent elements. Liang Shuquan recently used the reagent to determine cerium and scandium. However, the use of m-nitrobenzoic acid for the determination of zirconium has not been much studied. The purpose of this paper is to use nitrobenzoic acid to deposit zirconium under certain conditions, filter, wash and dissolve the polar compounds for the determination of nitro compounds. The content of zirconium is determined indirectly based on the amount of nitro compounds.
