Human acidic fibroblast growth factor (aFGF) is a cell growth regulator that acts primarily on mesodermal and neuroectodermal derived cells. aFGF is involved in physiological and pathological processes such as angiogenesis, regeneration and repair of tissue damage, embryonic development and differentiation, vegetative neurons, involvement in malignant proliferation of cells, and the like. Recent studies of aFGF have focused on its role at the animal’s overall level as well as the network mechanisms that interact with other cell growth regulators. To this end, we intend to adopt gene transfection technology and transgenic animal technology to establish aFGF in cells
