Zhongyou 39 was a middle-maturing conventional indica rice variety bred by Jia-ying 293 and Zhong-zu No.3 in China National Rice Research Institute. It was approved by Zhejiang Provincial Varieties Approval Committee in 2009 (Zhejueduo 2009039), and passed the national examination in 2012 Trial Rice 2012015), 2013 was identified as super rice varieties by the Ministry of Agriculture.
