当代中国研究所编著的《中华人民共和国史稿》(以下简称《国史稿》)是迄今为止国内国史编修队伍最大、历时最久(1992~2012年)、也最权威的一部国史著述。其篇幅很大,有150余万字,内容也远超以往国史范围。该书的编著集中了国内尤其是当代中国研究所一批杰出的国史研究专家,初期的编委会成员包括邓力群、马洪、丁伟志、郑惠、段若非等专家学者,各卷参写人员则有田居俭、张启华、程中原、李正华、李丹慧、刘国新等国史研究专家。后期编委会又特约张海鹏、逄先知、
The “History of the People’s Republic of China” (hereinafter referred to as “the History of the People’s Republic of China”) edited by the Institute of Contemporary China is by far the largest and last nationwide national history compilation team (1992-2012) and the most authoritative national history book. Its length, with more than 150 words, the content is far beyond the scope of the history of the country. The compilation of this book concentrates on a group of outstanding experts in the study of Chinese history, especially those from the Institute of Contemporary China.
