Since the end of 1991, thousands of diamond-searchers in the Mackenzie region of Canada have established landmarks on more than 42 million hectares of state-owned land. This is the most ferocious land-planting operation in North America. However, there will no longer be any unkempt faces such as Chaplin’s Gold Rush, with prospectors and shovelers. This is a high-tech, big-signed gambling. Some of the participants are world-renowned mining giants. Although no diamonds have been sold so far, the samples collected have shown that the region’s diamond reserves are comparable to any diamond deposit in the world.
