夏播小麦幼穗分化的各个时期与生育时期具有一定的对应关系。其全过程经历的时期为18—19天,比春播小麦缩短8天左右。其幼穗分化是在高温条件下(日平均气温26℃)完成的,是分化过程缩短的主要原因,但其分化期间所需的总积温(450℃)与春播小麦大体接近。其分化期间日平均可见光照时数(14小时)与春播小麦接近,完全可以满足小麦对光照的要求。夏播小麦二棱初期以前各分化期间隔时期与春播小麦相接近,二棱初期以后间隔时期比春播小麦缩短1—3天。其幼穗分化时期虽然比春播小麦缩短了近(1/3),但对穗部发育性状影响不大,而且结实小花数却增加了(每穗平均0.8个),结实率提高到70%左右,其原因可能与夏播生态条件下幼穗分化强度较大有关。
