2013年诺贝尔文学奖得主爱丽丝门罗(Alice Munro,1931-,加拿大人)早在2005年就以其文学成就被美国《时代周刊》评为“世界100名最有影响力的人物”。苏格兰裔孩子生活在加拿大小镇相对于美国文学的繁荣,加拿大文学是19世纪后半叶发展起来的。作为英联邦的成员,加拿大在文化上受原先殖民国英国和法国的影响。除了魁北克省为加拿大的法国文学中心之外,大部分地区都是英语文学,门罗正是加拿大英语文学的代表作家。
In 2013, Nobel laureate Alice Munro (1931-, Canadians) was named one of the “100 Most Influential People in the World” for his literary achievement by Time Magazine in the United States in 2005, ". Scottish children lived in small Canadian towns as opposed to American literature, and Canadian literature developed in the latter half of the 19th century. As a member of the Commonwealth, Canada is culturally affected by the former colonial Powers, Britain and France. In addition to Quebec as Canada’s French Literature Center, most of the area is English literature, Monroe is the representative writer of Canadian English literature.
