在汉口城市建设中,汉口商人和资本家起到十分重要的作用。商人和城市是相互促进,互相影响的。武汉的地域文化会影响到商人的个性,商人的经营活动也改变着这个城市。~([1])“其中,汉口的地皮大王刘歆生,起到了特殊的作用,特别值得提及。”刘歆生曾对时任鄂军大都督的黎元洪说:“都督创建了民国,我则创建了汉口”。~([2])但是目前学术界关于这方面专门的论述不够充分。本文试图探讨刘歆生与武汉的城市建设,借此来窥探城市建设的规律,进一步认识近代武汉商人和武汉这座城市。
In Hankou urban construction, Hankou businessmen and capitalists play a very important role. Businessmen and cities are mutually reinforcing and influencing each other. Wuhan’s regional culture will affect the personality of traders, business activities of traders also change the city. In particular, Liu Xinsheng, the land king of Hankou, played a special role and deserved special mention. “Liu Xinsheng once said to Li Yuanhong, the then Metropolitan Governor of the Eunuch:” The captaincy created the Republic of China and I created it Hankou ". ~ ([2]) But at present, the academic discourse on this area is not sufficient. This paper attempts to explore the city construction of Liu Xinsheng and Wuhan, in order to spy on the law of urban construction and further understand the modern Wuhan merchants and the city of Wuhan.
