新乡太行山区位于河南省新乡地区的西北部,里东北、西南走向,属太行山系的一部分,海拔高1,962米,总面积约有266,000公顷。追溯到两千年前,新乡太行山区曾是繁茂的森林地带,不仅有丰富的林木资源,而且有着丰富的动物资源,但由于历代反动统治阶级的掠夺、战争以及其它种种原因,使森林惨遭破坏,大部分山区变成了荒山秃岭。仅在山高路远、交通不便的偏远地区还残留有小面积的天然杂木林和散生的千年古树。如济源黄栋树林场,尚存天然林1,500公顷,其中成熟林173公顷,木材蓄积量约25,000立方米。其它如锯齿山、白松岭、石家背、天台
The Xinxiang Taihang Mountain is located in the northwestern part of Xinxiang, Henan Province, northeast and southwest, part of the Taihang Mountains, 1,962 meters above sea level, with a total area of about 266,000 hectares.
