零陵地区位于湖南省南端,地处湘江上游。属中亚热带大陆性季风湿润气候区,境内温暖湿润,热量丰富,是全省发展甘蔗生产自然条件最好的地区之一。1983年全区种植甘蔗5.94万亩,现已经发展到7.31万亩,产蔗28.52万吨。原料蔗亩产3.9吨,亩产值273元。虽然我区甘蔗生产有所发展,但由于种蔗经济效益低,仍然影响了蔗农种蔗的积极性。近年来,我们利用蔗田小区气候,在蔗田内开展综合利用试验,间套种各种作物,实现了亩产值超1000元的好收
