William Johnson, Secretary and Chairman of the US Bureau of Shipping Inspection sent a warm letter of congratulation on the occasion of the 120th anniversary of the Jiangnan Shipyard to promote the quality of ancient and modern shipbuilding. The letter said: "... we are proud that the US Bureau of Shipping Agency is proud to start cooperation with Guichang as early as 60 years ago and, to our knowledge, Guichang’s first 10,000-ton export ship built in 1921 Its durability and economy are enough to show your shipbuilding quality and level.
