晏阳初,1890年出生于四川巴中,著名教育家、社会学家,一生主要从事平民教育和社会改造工作。1913年,晏阳初就读于香港圣保罗书院。1916年考入美国耶鲁大学,攻读政治学与经济学,于1918年获学士学位。毕业后,晏阳初赴法国战场参加基督教青年会主持的为华工服务的工作,通过办识字班、办报等方法,使大量华工学会阅读和写字。1920年夏,晏阳初回到中
Yan Yangchu was born in 1878 in Ba Chuan, Sichuan, a famous educator and sociologist. His life was mainly engaged in civil education and social reconstruction work. In 1913, Yan Yangchu studied at the Hong Kong St Paul College. In 1916 admitted to Yale University, studying political science and economics, in 1918 received a bachelor’s degree. After graduation, Yan Yangchu went to the battlefield in France to attend the work of serving the laborers hosted by the YMCA and made a large number of laborers learn to read and write through such methods as reading classes and newspaper reports. In the summer of 1920, Yan Yangchu returned to China
