通化钢铁公司始建于1958年,经过30多年的发展与建设,现已形成采矿、选矿、烧结、炼铁、炼钢、轧钢、焦化、耐火以及机加、动力、运输、建筑安装等完整配套的地方骨干钢铁联合企业。现有全民职工3.3万人,其中专业技术人员5000余人.固定资产原值12亿元,分布于吉林省十个市、县。1992年产铁72万吨,钢72.2万吨,材64.9万吨,实现利税2.62亿元.通钢是吉林省的钢铁基地.总部位于长白山西麓通化市东北郊的浑江岸边.这里依山傍水,风景秀丽,资源丰富,交通便利,有发展钢铁工业的优越条件,“八五”投资7亿元,到95年将建成年产100万吨钢的生产能力,2000年发展成为200万吨钢的生产规模.
